  • Los Angeles (2016)
    In December, 2016, the Group met at the University of California at Los Angeles.
  • Symposium on the New Restatement of Employment Law (2016)
    In November, 2016, the Group co-sponsored a conference with the University of Indiana-Bloomington to examine the various chapters of the Restatement and debate the merits of the Restatement and how it might affect further evolution of employment law.
  • Ithaca, NY (2014)
    In June 2014, the Labor Law Group met at Cornell University’s Statler Hotel in Ithaca, NY.
  • Re-Imagining Labor Law (2013)
    In February 2013, the Labor Law Group co-sponsored a conference with UC Irvine Law School on Re-Imagining Labor Law.   The conference focused on alternatives to the Wagner Act and employment law models of workplace protection.  Click here for the conference program.
  • Labor Arbitrator Training Workshop for Academics (2012)
    In December 2012, the LLG sponsored  a Labor Arbitrator Training Workshop for Academics.   The workshop was held in Chicago on December 7-9, 2012.  Sessions on the practice of labor arbitration practice were led by Laura Cooper, Dennis Nolan and Marty Malin.    An overview of the workshop is available here.

    In June 2012, the Labor Law Group met at the Grove Park Inn in Asheville, North Carolina.
  •  Expert’s Meeting on the Restatement of Employment Law Project (2011).
    On November 18-19, 2011, the Labor Law Group, together with American Bar Foundation and Northwestern Law School, hosted a meeting of experts to discuss the ongoing Restatement of Employment Law Project being undertaken by the American Law Institute. Click here for the schedule.
  • Public Sector Employment in Times of Crisis (September 9, 2011)
    On September 9, 2011, the University of Richmond School of Law Austin E. Owen Lecture, in conjunction with the Labor Law Group, the American Constitution Society, and the Center for Leadership in Education, hosted a one-day conference, Public Sector Employment in Times of Crisis.   • Labor and Employment Law under the Obama Administration: A Time for Hope and Change? (2010)
    In November 2010, the Labor Law Group and the Indiana University Maurer School of Law cosponsored a symposium on ways in which the Obama administration will address the economic and political environment for labor and employment issues.

    In February 2009, the Labor Law Group and the University of California Hastings College of Law cosponsored a one-day symposium on the Proposed Restatement of Employment Law.
  • The Low-Wage Worker: Legal Rights—Legal Realities (2007)
    In November 2010, the Labor Law Group, in conjunction with the University of Minnesota Law Review, sponsored a symposium on The Low-Wage Worker: Legal Rights—Legal Realities. The symposium covered a range of topics from immigration and the minimum wage to organizing and challenging global capital.
